A 6-year-old child sustained injuries after being hit by a car on Marconi Avenue and La Paz Way in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento County on Friday morning, December 13, 2024.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:08 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The child was crossing the street with their father outside of the crosswalk when they pulled away and ran into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
The child suffered bruising to their face and hip and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to emergency dispatcher radio communications.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No arrests were made.
