A man was killed in a felony hit-and-run after exiting a moving vehicle in the 4900 block of McCoy Avenue near Grandby Drive in San Jose on Saturday evening, December 13, 2025.
According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded just before 6:30 p.m. and found a man lying in the eastbound lane of McCoy Avenue with major injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 29-year-old Loren B. of Campbell. Investigators said Loren had been riding as a passenger in a black 2018 Chevrolet Volt traveling eastbound when he exited the moving vehicle. Police reported that the driver did not stop at the scene.
Detectives later located the driver in Sunnyvale on Monday and arrested her on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Authorities said her identity was not immediately released. Police noted the incident marked San Jose’s 38th traffic-related fatality of the year.
The investigation is ongoing.
