A man was struck and killed in a crash on Highway 99 at White Lane in Bakersfield on Thursday evening, December 18, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol Bakersfield Area Office, officers responded around 6:25 p.m. to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian in the northbound lanes of Highway 99.
Investigators said an adult male pedestrian was in the roadway when he was struck by a white Mercedes SUV traveling in the number three lane just north of White Lane.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP said the driver of the Mercedes was not injured and remained at the scene, cooperating with officers. Authorities stated that alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
