A 58-year-old resident of Oxnard, identified as Cristero L., is in critical condition after being struck by a Toyota Camry in Oxnard on Sunday evening, December 22, 2024.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:28 p.m. on Gonzales Road near Williams Drive.
The Camry, driven by a 25-year-old Oxnard resident, was traveling westbound on Gonzales Road when it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the roadway between Williams Drive and North Rose Avenue in an unknown direction.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Ventura County Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition as of Monday. The driver of the Camry remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The investigation is ongoing.
