A 47-year-old woman from San Diego sustained critical injuries after being struck by a truck tractor in Oceanside on Monday evening, December 30, 2024.
According to the Oceanside Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:11 p.m. on State Route 76 near Canyon Drive.
The woman was walking along the fog line of eastbound SR-76 when a 2013 Freightliner truck tractor driven by a 30-year-old man from Lynwood struck her.
Emergency responders transported the woman to Scripps Hospital via air ambulance. She underwent surgery and remained in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The OPD’s major accident investigation team is investigating the collision.
