Two drivers suffered moderate to major injuries in a head-on crash in the 1200 block of Mono Way in Sonora on Thursday evening, January 15, 2026.
According to the Sonora Police Department, a 2021 Hyundai Elantra driven by an unidentified 30-year-old man from Jamestown was traveling westbound on Mono Way when it veered into the eastbound lane, colliding with a 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 60-year-old woman from Twain Harte.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance to hospitals in the Central Valley. The collision is being investigated as a DUI incident. No further information has been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
