[01-23-2026] Orange County, CA – Three Critically Injured After Two-Vehicle Rollover Crash on 73 Toll Road in Newport Beach

Three people were critically injured after a two-vehicle rollover crash on an Orange County toll road in Newport Beach on Friday night, January 23, 2026.

According to the Newport Beach Fire Department, the crash was reported around 8:20 p.m. on the southbound 73 Toll Road at Bonita Canyon. 

Firefighters arrived to find two heavily damaged vehicles with three people trapped inside. The incident was upgraded to a Technical Heavy Rescue and classified as a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident.

Fire crews successfully extricated all three occupants, who were transported to local hospitals in critical condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
