Two drivers were injured following a head-on collision on Highway 1 near Half Moon Bay in San Mateo County on Monday night, February 2, 2026.
According to authorities, the two-vehicle crash was reported at around 6:30 p.m. near Coral Reef Avenue in El Granada.
Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene, where both drivers were found trapped inside their vehicles.
Cal Fire officials reported that one driver was extricated within about 15 minutes, while the second driver required approximately 45 minutes to be removed. One patient was transported by Stanford Life Flight helicopter, and the other by ambulance to a hospital. The condition of the injured drivers was not immediately available.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
