All lanes of State Route 76 were blocked following a traffic collision involving a semi-truck and a sedan in the Oceanside area early Friday morning, February 6, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 6:07 a.m. on SR-76 near Rice Canyon Road.
CHP initially classified the incident as a traffic collision with possible unknown injuries, but later updated the report to indicate that no injuries were reported.
CHP logs stated that the collision involved a semi-truck and a Honda Civic. The sedan reportedly struck an embankment and came to rest on the narrow right-hand shoulder, while the semi-truck moved into nearby bushes and remained partially in the roadway on the opposite side of a tight turn.
Authorities said that at one point, all lanes were blocked as first responders assessed the scene. Visibility in the area was limited due to the curve in the roadway, and another vehicle was reported stopped behind the semi-truck.
California Highway Patrol officers arrived shortly after 6:30 a.m., and Caltrans was requested to assist with traffic control and roadway support. Traffic impacts were reported during the morning commute as crews worked to clear the roadway.
