A 53-year-old man was killed in a car crash in Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego County, on Sunday night, February 8, 2026.
The California Highway Patrol and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that the collision occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Del Dios Highway near Luna De Miel. Investigators said a sedan traveling along Del Dios Highway collided with an SUV.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Fred L., 53, of San Diego, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that no other injuries were associated with the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
