A pedestrian was killed after being struck by at least one vehicle on State Route 52 in University City, San Diego, early Tuesday morning, February 24, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just east of Regents Road around 1:30 a.m.
The victim, described only as a male, was standing in the far right westbound lane, possibly preparing to cross the roadway on foot, when he was struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
