A 29-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash just west of Vacaville on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Byrnes Road and Hawkins Road.
Authorities said a silver Toyota sedan was traveling south on Byrnes Road when it was broadsided by a silver Dodge pickup truck heading east on Hawkins Road.
The driver of the Toyota, a 29-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to a hospital, though their condition remains unknown. CHP officials stated that the driver of the Dodge was not under the influence.
The crash occurred at an intersection where Byrnes Road is controlled by a stop sign, while Hawkins Road is not.
The investigation remains ongoing.
