Two adults and two juveniles were killed in a solo crash on Oakdale-Waterford Highway north of Claribel Road in Stanislaus County, early Sunday morning, March 8, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol Modesto Area Office, the crash occurred at around 3:05 a.m. involving a 2014 Dodge SUV that was found engulfed in flames.
Investigators said two adults and four juveniles were inside the SUV. Four occupants, including both adults and two of the juveniles, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The other two juveniles, ages 12 and 7, managed to exit the burning vehicle with injuries. The 12-year-old was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries, while the 7-year-old was transported to a local hospital.
Authorities said it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office is working to confirm the identities of the victims.
The investigation remains ongoing.
