A man and a child were injured in a collision at a busy Escondido intersection on Wednesday afternoon, March 18, 2026.
According to the Escondido Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:33 p.m. at the intersection of North Fig Street and East Valley Parkway.
A white minivan and a dark-colored vehicle were involved in the collision, with the dark vehicle overturned in the middle of the Fig Street crosswalk. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Reports say the man and child were being attended to by fire crews at the scene. They were later escorted into an ambulance, and their conditions remain unknown. It is unclear whether they were in either of the vehicles involved.
