A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 101 near Alisos Canyon in Los Alamos, Santa Barbara County, early Saturday morning, March 21, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at around 2:00 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the freeway.
Responding officers found a 37-year-old man from Hueytown, Alabama, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his identity pending notification of next of kin.
Preliminary findings indicate the pedestrian was on the roadway when he was struck by a passing vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
