One person was killed, and several others were injured in a rollover crash in rural Modesto on early Monday morning, March 23, 2026.
According to Modesto Fire officials, crews responded shortly after 4:30 a.m. near Santa Fe Avenue and Claus Road, where a vehicle with four occupants had rolled over.
A passenger seated in the left rear of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers were transported to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Authorities identified the driver as a 39-year-old Modesto resident who was taken into custody after officers observed signs of impairment.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation remains ongoing.
