A semi-truck carrying approximately 50,000 pounds of meat crashed and caught fire on the Capital City Freeway in Sacramento on Sunday morning, March 29, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:18 a.m. when the semi-truck struck a vehicle on the ramp connecting the Capital City Freeway to Highway 50. The truck jackknifed and caught fire, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
As a result, the ramp from southbound Capital City Freeway to westbound Highway 50 and the T Street ramp to the Capital City Freeway were closed.
The incident remains under investigation.
