A 28-year-old Sacramento man was killed after a crash on Interstate 80 in Vacaville early Monday morning, March 30, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:57 a.m. on eastbound I-80, just west of Lagoon Valley Road.
Authorities said the driver of a blue Toyota Corolla first drove off the right side of the freeway, crossed all lanes, and crashed into the center divider wall.
While the crashed Toyota blocked lanes, a Honda Accord struck the car at approximately 70 miles per hour. The impact ejected the driver, who was flung east of the crash site and came to rest in the roadway.
As emergency medical services arrived, a white Mercedes drove over the driver before pulling to the right shoulder and waiting for CHP. A Kia also ran over the man, but its occupants briefly checked for damage before fleeing the scene.
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released. The Honda driver admitted to being distracted, but no arrests were made by 9 a.m.
The CHP’s investigation into the crash is ongoing.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
