A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on State Route 88 in Amador County on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the crash involving a motorcycle and a truck towing a horse trailer.
Investigators stated that the motorcycle was traveling westbound at an unknown speed when it crossed over the double yellow lines into the eastbound lane and collided with an oncoming truck.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver and any passengers were not reported to be injured.
Following the crash, SR-88 was closed in both directions for the investigation, with traffic being managed through one-way control.
