A head-on traffic collision involving two vehicles blocked all lanes of South Mission Road near Almond Street in San Diego County on Thursday evening, April 23, 2026.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at around 5:07 p.m. and involved a white Toyota Tacoma with a ladder rack and a white Dodge Dart.
According to CHP incident logs, the vehicles collided head-on near 1346 South Mission Road, bringing traffic to a standstill.
First responders from the North County Fire Protection District, including Engine 112 and Medic 110, were dispatched to the scene and arrived quickly to assess the situation.
CHP logs indicated that all occupants had exited their vehicles and were seen standing on the sidewalk. While their injuries were described as unknown, emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene for evaluation.
S and R Towing was called to clear the vehicles and restore traffic flow. Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of the crash or whether any citations were issued.
The investigation remains ongoing.
