[04-24-2026] San Diego County, CA – 4-Year-Old Boy Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle on Ammunition Rd.

A 4-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Ammunition Road in San Diego County on Friday afternoon, April 24, 2026.

According to authorities, the incident was reported at around 4:50 p.m. in the 400 block of Ammunition Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene after initial reports of a vehicle versus a juvenile. The child was conscious and crying at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Fallbrook’s air park, where he was then airlifted by Mercy Air 5 to a children’s hospital.

The extent of the child’s injuries has not been released. Multiple units responded to the incident and cleared the scene after approximately 40 minutes.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
