An 8-year-old child was injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a bicycle in Novato, Marin County, on Friday afternoon, April 24, 2026.
According to the Novato Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of Vineyard Road and Sutro Avenue.
Authorities reported that a newer black Mercedes, driven by an older woman, struck the child while they were riding a bicycle. The driver briefly stopped and acknowledged the child before leaving the scene westbound on Vineyard Road.
A passerby stopped to assist the child, who sustained minor injuries, and contacted emergency services.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact the Novato Police Department.
