One person was killed, while another was injured after a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Sacramento early Tuesday morning, April 9, 2024.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the fatal crash occurred just after 4:30 a.m. along Fruitridge Road near Ethel Way.
Police said that a pickup truck, for some reason, collided with two pedestrians, a man and a woman, who were either crossing Fruitridge Road or walking along it The man was in a wheelchair, while the woman was pushing it.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to UC Davis Medical Center.
SPD confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck stayed a the scene and cooperated.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident. No further details were immediately released.
