A motorized bike rider was killed following a crash in Butte County on Monday afternoon, May 11, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on northbound Highway 99 at Biggs East Highway near Biggs.
Authorities reported that a vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when the rider of a motorized bike entered the roadway against a red light and pulled into the vehicle’s path.
The rider was ejected from the bike during the collision. Officials stated that the rider was not wearing a helmet and later died at a hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.
