[05-18-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Two E-Bike Riders Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Eagles Nest Rd.

Two people riding e-bikes were killed after being struck by a vehicle in Sacramento County on Monday night, May 18, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s East Sacramento division, the crash occurred on Eagles Nest Road near Woodring Drive.

Authorities stated that a truck traveling at a high rate of speed struck two men riding e-bikes before leaving the roadway and crashing through a fence.

Officials said the driver and one passenger fled the scene on foot but were later located. The driver was subsequently arrested.

Two additional occupants of the truck were transported to a hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

Both e-bike riders died from their injuries at the scene. Their identities have not yet been disclosed.

Investigators stated that DUI is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
