[05-15-2026] Santa Clara County, CA – One Person Injured After Vehicle Crashes Into Safeway Store in Sunnyvale

A vehicle crashed into a grocery store in Sunnyvale on Friday, May 15, 2026, after a driver reportedly lost control while attempting to park.

According to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, an elderly man was attempting to park outside a Safeway grocery store when his vehicle drove through the exterior wall and continued approximately 70 feet inside the store.

Authorities stated that the vehicle eventually came to rest in the store’s floral department, leaving debris scattered throughout the area.

Officials reported that neither the driver nor his passenger suffered injuries. One customer sustained minor injuries, including cuts and bruises, and was transported to a hospital as a precaution.

No serious injuries were reported in the incident.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
