A 65-year-old man was killed following a two-vehicle crash in Huntington Beach on Wednesday afternoon, May 20, 2026.
According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, officers responded around 5:20 p.m. to the intersection of Gothard Street and Lorge Circle.
Authorities stated that the collision involved a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck and a Toyota Sienna minivan, both traveling southbound on Gothard Street.
Investigators said that the pickup truck crashed into the minivan for reasons still under investigation before continuing down the roadway, crossing into opposing lanes, and striking a tree.
Officers found the driver of the pickup truck unconscious inside the vehicle. The man, identified only as a 65-year-old Huntington Beach resident, was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the minivan, a 60-year-old Westminster man, was not injured and remained at the scene while cooperating with investigators.
Police stated that impairment did not appear to be a factor for the minivan driver, though investigators have not determined whether impairment played a role in the pickup truck driver.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
