A bicyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in East San Jose on Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the crash was reported around 9:37 a.m. on North Capitol Avenue near Gay Avenue.
Authorities stated that the cyclist, described only as a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police reported that the driver fled the scene but was later located in a disabled vehicle near the collision site. The suspect was taken into custody, and authorities determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
