[05-11-2026] Tulare County, CA – Man Killed, Woman Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Paseo Del Lago

A man was killed, and a woman was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while walking in Tulare early Thursday, June 11, 2026.

According to the Tulare Police Department, officers responded just after midnight to a collision near Paseo Del Lago and Viognier streets.

Authorities stated that the victims, a man and a woman, were walking home when they were hit by a vehicle. The woman sustained significant injuries and requested medical assistance at the scene.

Officials said the male victim was found in the backyard of a nearby residence with critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The identities of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police reported the driver and passenger initially fled the scene but were later apprehended. The driver, identified as Abraham P., was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
