Two people were injured in a crash on Interstate 10 in Whitewater, Riverside County, on Tuesday afternoon, June 30, 2026.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the crash was reported at around 3:20 p.m. near the Whitewater Rest Area on westbound I-10.
Authorities said an 80-year-old Ontario man was driving a Ford Explorer at an unspecified speed when the vehicle struck the center divider. The SUV came to rest blocking the No. 3 and No. 4 lanes.
The driver sustained minor injuries, while another occupant suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The California Highway Patrol reported that no other vehicles were involved and that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
