Four people were injured, including two critically, in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 south of Lompoc on Tuesday evening, June 30, 2026.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the collision occurred shortly after 6 p.m. about 11 miles north of Highway 101 and involved three vehicles.
Firefighters arrived to find one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames. Crews extinguished the fire before it spread to nearby vegetation.
Two individuals sustained major injuries, with one patient airlifted by a county helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Another victim with major injuries, along with two others with moderate injuries, was transported by ground ambulance to local hospitals.
The identities and conditions of the victims have not been released. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
