A 16-year-old girl sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Thousand Oaks on Sunday night, July 5, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident at around 11 p.m. on Potrero Road, just west of Wendy Drive.
Authorities said the girl had been walking to her parked vehicle after being dropped off by another driver when a 17-year-old boy driving a pickup truck struck her after moving onto the right shoulder to pass.
The girl was found unconscious on the ground by deputies and was transported to Los Robles Hospital with major injuries. CHP reported that neither alcohol nor drugs was considered a factor in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
