A driver sustained major injuries after a head-on collision with a dump truck north of Davis, Yolo County, on Monday afternoon, July 6, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the crash that occurred at around 3:20 p.m. on County Road 29, east of County Road 101A.
CHP reported that an eastbound Honda sedan crossed into the westbound lane for unknown reasons and collided with a Peterbilt dump truck.
Firefighters extricated the Honda driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, who was then airlifted by Reach helicopter to a hospital for treatment. The dump truck driver sustained minor injuries.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
