A 25-year-old man was hospitalized with major injuries after a two-vehicle DUI crash on Rice Avenue in Oxnard on Thursday evening, July 9, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area, the crash was reported at around 9:20 p.m. north of Channel Islands Boulevard.
Authorities said the man was driving a black Jeep Cherokee southbound in the number one lane when the vehicle drifted into the number two lane and collided with a black Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 37-year-old woman, with a 35-year-old man as a passenger.
The Jeep driver was transported to St. Johns Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet Tahoe sustained minor injuries and were taken to Ventura County Medical Center.
The Jeep driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The CHP continues to investigate the incident.
