A multi-vehicle crash caused traffic delays on northbound Interstate 5 near Grapevine Road in Kern County on Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 1:31 p.m. and involved four to five vehicles, which blocked the number one and two lanes.
The collision occurred while crews continued working to extinguish the Buzzard Fire burning along the southbound side of Interstate 5.
Officials have not released information regarding injuries or the circumstances leading to the crash.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
