A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a black Honda Pilot on northbound Highway 101 west of Goleta on Thursday evening, August 6, 2026.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol, emergency crews responded around 8:17 p.m. to northbound Highway 101 south of Tajiguas.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Initial emergency radio traffic indicated that the motorcycle may have struck the rear of the SUV, although authorities had not confirmed those circumstances.
The CHP continues to investigate the collision.
