[08-21-2026] San Diego County, CA – Four Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-15

Four people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 in San Diego on Friday afternoon, August 21, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 2:10 p.m. on the southbound I-15 near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.

Authorities said four vehicles were involved, including a silver Toyota truck, a silver SUV, a dark blue Lexus SUV, and a silver sedan.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department personnel transported four people to area hospitals. Two of the patients were reported to be in critical condition. One person had to be extricated from a vehicle, though that person’s condition was not immediately available.

The collision temporarily stopped traffic on the freeway while emergency crews cleared the damaged vehicles and debris.
