[08-26-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Man Killed, Three Injured in Crash in Arden-Arcade

A man was killed and three others, including a 6-month-old baby, sustained injuries after a van crashed into a tree in the Arden-Arcade, Sacramento County, on Wednesday afternoon, August 26, 2026.

According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, emergency crews responded before 4:00 p.m. to the 3000 block of Auburn Boulevard. Firefighters found a van that had left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Four people inside the van — three adults and an infant — were trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters.

The California Highway Patrol said a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman in her 30s sustained moderate injuries, while the 6-month-old baby suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to a hospital. The driver, a man in his 40s, was also hospitalized after complaining of pain.

According to CHP, the van was traveling eastbound on Auburn Boulevard, west of Morse Avenue, when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Investigators said the driver may have fallen asleep before the crash.

The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal collision.
