A bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Jose early Friday morning, September 4, 2026.
According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to the incident at around 4:20 a.m. at the intersection of North First Street and Trimble Road.
Police said a man driving a gray 2024 Toyota Corolla was traveling through the intersection on a green light when the vehicle struck the bicyclist, who was traveling north on North First Street in a crosswalk.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
The Toyota driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
