A multi-vehicle crash caused significant traffic delays on Interstate 10 near Blythe, Riverside County, on Monday afternoon, September 7, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 4:22 p.m. on the eastbound I-10.
CHP traffic logs indicated that four vehicles were involved, including two black SUVs that sustained major damage.
An ambulance and the Blythe Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. Information regarding possible injuries was not immediately available.
Multiple tow trucks were requested to assist with removing the damaged vehicles. The Blythe Police Department was also asked to assist with the dogs involved in the incident.
Officers temporarily stopped eastbound traffic at State Route 78 and conducted traffic breaks from Mile Marker 141 and Mesa Drive while crews cleared the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
