A 31-year-old woman was killed in a crash in the unincorporated community of San Martin, Santa Clara County, on Saturday evening, September 12, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded at around 6:30 p.m. to the intersection of Monterey Road and Church Avenue.
Authorities said a Ford SUV veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The woman, who was riding in the front passenger seat, died as a result of the crash.
The CHP identified the victim as a San Martin resident but did not release her name.
Investigators believe speed was a factor in the collision. CHP officials said the driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
