A two-vehicle crash involving a Ford Mustang and a Jeep Grand Cherokee caused an SUV fire in Adelanto on Wednesday afternoon, September 23, 2026.
The crash was reported at around 3:15 p.m. on Palmdale Road, just west of Monte Vista Road/Aster Road.
Authorities said the collision involved a green Ford Mustang and a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. Following the crash, the Jeep struck a wooden utility pole on the east side of the roadway and caught fire. The flames spread to the utility pole, leaving it damaged.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and Southern California Edison was requested to respond due to concerns that the damaged utility pole could collapse.
Information about possible injuries was not immediately available. The investigation remains ongoing.
