Two people sustained injuries in a suspected DUI collision in Fresno on Wednesday night, September 30, 2026.
According to police, the crash occurred at around 11:00 p.m. at Herndon Avenue and Van Ness Boulevard.
Police said one vehicle was traveling eastbound on Herndon Avenue at approximately 50 mph when another vehicle, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, rear-ended it.
The driver of the first vehicle lost consciousness and became pinned inside. The driver was later transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition.
Authorities said the second driver was suspected of DUI and was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI and an enhancement for inflicting bodily injury during a felony.
The investigation remains ongoing.
