A male rider was killed after a motorcycle vs. vehicle T-bone collision in Carmichael, Sacramento County, on Saturday morning, May 18, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Robertson Avenue.
CHP said that a rider, only identified as a man in his 50s, was traveling north on Walnut Avenue at high speeds and ran a red light at the intersection with Robertson Avenue. At the same time, an SUV driven by a woman in her 20s, who reportedly had a green light, turned left onto Roberston.
The motorcycle crashed into the side of the SUV, fatally injuring its rider. Apparently, the still-unnamed motorcyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet when the incident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver appeared to be uninjured, according to the CHP.
Additional information was not immediately available. Officers are still investigating the possible factors leading up to the fatal accident.
