[05-27-2024] One Person Killed After Fiery Multi-Vehicle Collision in Los AlamitosOne person was killed after a fiery multi-vehicle collision in Los Alamitos late Monday night, May 27, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at about 11:46 p.m. on the intersection of northbound Interstate 405 and northbound Interstate 605.

The crash reportedly involved a dark-colored sedan, a blue Ford Mustang, and a black Chevrolet Camaro. The circumstances behind the vehicular incident remain unclear, but reports indicated that the sedan collided with the center divider before becoming fully engulfed in flames.

CHP officers were quick to react and were able to pull the driver out of the burning car. Unfortunately, the driver was already unconscious and not breathing. 

The name, age, and gender of the deceased driver were not immediately known. It is still unclear if there were other occupants inside the crashed sedan when the incident took place. There is also no word yet of any other injuries from the other vehicles involved.

The collision caused significant traffic disruption around the area as the vehicles involved were reportedly blocking the fast and HOV transition.

Additional information was not available at this time, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the deadly crash.
