[06-09-2024] Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Hit-And-Run Collision in HillcrestA pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run collision in San Diego on Sunday night, June 9, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the traffic accident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. around the Sixth Avenue and University Avenue intersection within the Hillcrest neighborhood.

Police said that the victim was crossing the roadway from University Avenue when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle that did not bother stopping or call for help. Upon arrival, first responders found the victim lying on the road, unconscious and bleeding.

SDPD officers administered CPR until the medical crew arrived. The victim, whose name, age, and gender were not immediately known, was taken to a local hospital for further treatment. As of this writing, there is still no update on the victim’s condition.

The authorities are still tracking down the hit-and-run driver. An official description of the vehicle involved is yet to be announced.

No further details were available at this time. Police work is underway.
