[06-18-2024] 51-Year-Old Man Injured After Semi-Truck Vs. Vehicle Collision Along Highway 99 in BakersfieldA 51-year-old man was injured after a semi-truck vs. vehicle collision in Bakersfield early Tuesday morning, June 18, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic accident occurred just before 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Golden State (99) Highway, just south of 7th Standard.

CHP said the crash involved a semi-truck carrying 40,000 pounds of undisclosed cargo and a pickup truck. How the collision happened, and the circumstances behind it remain unclear.

The driver of the pickup truck, only identified as a 51-year-old man, sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. It is currently unknown if he was taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care or treated on-scene.

The semi-truck driver, on the other hand, appeared to be uninjured. As of now, there are no reports of any other injuries.

Further information was not immediately available. The authorities are still examining all the evidence they can find on-scene to determine the cause of the crash.
