[06-20-2024] Minor Injuries Reported After Three-Vehicle Crash Along Highway 101 in Pismo BeachMinor injuries were reported after a three-vehicle crash in Pismo Beach on Thursday afternoon, June 20, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car pileup happened around 4:27 p.m. along Highway 101, passing through the Five Cities area.

CHP said that two sedans and an unspecified vehicle were involved in the collision. The two sedans collided and ended up in the divide between the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway. Moments later, the third vehicle joined the pileup.

It was later confirmed that the incident resulted in minor head injuries and that an ambulance was called to the scene. All parties involved got out of their respective vehicles on their power. The total number of injured persons and their identities were not disclosed.

CHP stated that the collision resulted in heavy traffic around the area. According to the officials, Highway 101’s southbound traffic was backed up as far north as the Avila Beach Drive exit. The northbound traffic was also affected.

Additional information was not immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the incident.
