[06-25-2024] One Person Killed After Two-Vehicle Crash Near Highway 178 in Bakersfield One person was killed after a two-vehicle crash in Bakersfield on Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 5:03 p.m. near Highway 178 and Comanche Drive. 

Authorities stated that two unspecified vehicles were involved in the crash. There is no word yet on the total number of people involved, but the CHP confirmed that at least one person was declared dead. The name, age, and gender of the deceased were not immediately known. 

It is unclear if anyone else was injured. Details on how the collision occurred and if drugs or alcohol played a role were not available. The responding officers are gathering all the necessary information to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
