Two people sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle DUI collision in Galt on Wednesday afternoon, July 10, 2024.
According to the Galt Police Department, the crash happened along the 200 block of Palin Avenue.
Authorities stated that 31-year-old Israel B. of Galt was driving a Honda minivan when, for some reason, he left the roadway, went through two front yards, and collided with two parked cars. One of those parked vehicles hit a home’s carport while the other car had an occupant inside.
The person inside the parked car, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, suffered minor injuries and were transported to a hospital. Their current condition was not provided as of this writing.
Police said that Israel B. showed signs of intoxication, and was later discovered that he was four times over the legal blood alcohol content limit. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary details to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
